One thing I don't get...
1. There's going to be fantastic pockets of resources and ore for industry types to exploit.
2. There's no cap ships, no stations, and what space you return to that has cap ships and stations is random.
3. Wormholes close after n amount of mass transferred through them.
So...Who's going to launch a mining op into a system where they have to ferry back materials with an Orca only (which are quite large, mass-wise and presuming you're willing to comitt an Orca to 0.0), while each Orca load of materials brings the system closer to being shut down. And once the entrance wormhole is shut down, you have to leave to a system that may be (at best) 40-some-odd jumps from home or (at worst) in the middle of deep hostile 0.0?
Don't get me wrong, I really like the things talked about in this expansion - but it seems like there's no reason to visit these sites other than the new rats or a chance to kill the people trying for the new rats. ----------------

Lui Kai : What is the answer about mining ops and stuff with the orca exactly?
The answer would be not using an Orca. According to the main thread, caps can use wormholes - just not cyno - so the answer is to use a Rorqual. The ore compression and clone bay facets of that ship make it ideal for this circumstance. |

The two ships that seem like they'd really shine in this:
Rorquals. Marauders.
Of course, letting either of those "shine" in these new situations means having to be willing to commit such a large and pop-able investment to a potential no-return situation. |

Originally by: Rosur Will be new npcs but doubt there will be new stations in the new space. Wonder if people can build stations out in the new space? Also sounds awsome !!
They've said no stations.
They've also said no sov, which means no building stations.
POS living is the best you can hope for as far as convenience goes, and even that would involve some dedicated logistics. Definatly do-able, though. ----------------

Originally by: Rosur [ Yea hacs would most likly be used in these systems espically amarr ones as no need for ammo and ishtars as they use drones insted of ammo so more space for loot. ALso its not to hard to fit a probe launcher on them and cloaks.
In that HACs are cruiser size, and T3 is going to be cruiser size - I'm betting the new T3 ships will be the ones most often chosen, actually. |

Originally by: Piratejoe 2500 hundred new systems? I have a few questions then if you dont mind. The new systems that have stations, will they have a security rating and if so will thier be gate guns, a concord style police or will it be like 0.0 NPC stations/space? Will somebody be able too live out of these new NPC stations and make a Med Clones their? Meaning if I die/podded I can wake up in this new station or will those services only be for old Empire Space? About how many star systems are their currently in Eve? Star systems in Empire? In 0.0?
Thx in advance. If these questions have been answered already can someone pls point me in the right direction so I can read them for myself.
Read the dev blog that's being talked about in this post, and linked in the first post. No stations in any of it. No gates in any of it. No concord in any of it. It's all 0.0. There's 5201 systems that are accessible by players currently. There are another hundred or so that are in Jove space which is inaccessible. ----------------

So what happens when you cram a ship with a clone bay through a wormhole?
I must confess ignorance to how cloning bays work on capitals.
It works the same as any other jump clone - but they've already stated no clone jumping into wormhole systems. |

Originally by: Lijhal sorry to ask, but i thought only the signature radius of a ship, and not the sensor strenght, is the dedicated factor to find ships .... or did i miss something ?
No, you didn't miss anything - you're perfectly correct. The poster you quoted is highly confused. |
